Surface cleaner attachment
Also known as: flat surface cleaner, spinning nozzle cleaner
Round attachment for pressure washers that uses spinning nozzles to clean flat surfaces (driveways, patios, decks) more uniformly and quickly than a hand wand.
A surface cleaner is a circular attachment (typically 15-24 inches in diameter) that mounts to a pressure washer wand. Inside the housing, two or more nozzles spin around a center axis, distributing water pressure evenly across the surface. A skirt or brush at the base contains overspray.
Compared to free-handing with a wand, a surface cleaner produces dramatically more uniform results — no streaks from overlapping passes, no missed spots from inconsistent dwell time. For driveways, patios, parking lots, and similar flat hard surfaces, surface cleaners reduce job time by 40-60% and produce visibly better results.
For pressure washing operators, a surface cleaner is essential equipment for residential and commercial work. Sizes match flow rate: 16-inch units pair with 4 GPM machines; 21-inch and larger units require 5+ GPM commercial-grade machines. Investment ranges from $200 (entry consumer) to $800-$1,500 (commercial). The productivity gain on driveway and patio jobs typically pays back within the first month of professional use.

Soft wash vs power wash
Power wash uses high water pressure (1,500-4,000+ PSI) for hard surfaces. Soft wash uses low pressure (under 500 PSI) with chemical cleaners for delicate surfaces (siding, roofs, painted surfaces).
Hot water vs cold water pressure washing
Hot water (160-200°F) cleans grease, oil, and organic contamination far better than cold water. Cold water is sufficient for most residential dirt and mildew. Hot water machines cost 3-5x more.
